licensing Arrangements
Seaford Pharmaceuticals engages in several arrangements. In such instances, a royalty on net sales is paid to the owner of the compound or brand with Seaford taking responsibility for all marketing, distribution, and sales costs.
Rx & D
This has been a priority because of the prevailing political and economic climate in Canada. Accordingly, results have contributed significantly to our revenue base because of our success in introducing several product opportunities. The future continues to be extremely promising with a very impressive pipeline in different stages of development.
Distribution
Seaford distributes mainly through the national drug wholesaler distribution network which has so far proven to be very cost efficient and prompt. Hospitals are supplied directly from our own warehouse along with veterinary clinics and nursing homes. Our products are available either on a direct or indirect basis to all pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes, health food stores, veterinarians, chains, and other authorized outlets in Canada
Coverage
We operate in all of Canada’s ten provinces, however, greater concentration is placed on the provinces of Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, and Alberta. Market potential is the obvious influencing factor.
Regulatory
To meet the extremely rigid regulatory standards imposed by Health Canada, Seaford invests a considerable amount of resources. We operate in full compliance with all regulatory requirements including those pertaining to labelling, storage, distribution, quality assurance standards, and Good Manufacturing Procedures. Seaford encourages its suppliers and licensors to become our partners in the entire process. Seaford works very closely with all of our suppliers on DIN (Drug Identification Number) and NPN (Natural Product Number) submissions providing a complete range of technical support and guidance with data and cost of product approval by Health Canada, being the supplier’s responsibility.
Manufacturing
At present we outsource all manufacturing. This will continue as long as economies of scale dictate.
